Alec Cannon is a healthcare attorney and heads McGregor & Oblad's Corporate Healthcare Group. He assists dentists, optometrists, practice-based physicians, and other healthcare professionals with practice startups, partnerships, and real estate transactions as well as practice transitions, including sales to management services organizations (DSOs and MSOs). He also represents startup DSOs and MSOs in various transactional matters.
Prior to joining McGregor & Oblad, Alec focused his practice on immigration and real estate matters. He continues to assist his healthcare clients and their families in their business and family immigration matters, including with family and employment-based immigrant petitions and applications, H1B and other non-immigrant visas, and naturalization.
Alec wowed music lovers in 1994-95 when he sang as a soprano in the Salt Lake Children's Choir. In high school, he was a second team all-region baseball player and had dreams of joining the big leagues until his wife said he should be a lawyer instead. The only time he has cried in his adult life was when the Cubs won the 2016 World Series. He lives with his three kids (who he likes most of the time) and his wife (who he likes all the time).
